Digital Readout Unit dIGIview Model IG 1001
Introduction:
dIGIview Vibrating Wire readout unit with engineering units display is a advanced
microcontroller based indicator for use with Innovative Geotechnical Instrumentation’s range of
Vibrating Wire Transducers. It can display the measured frequency in terms of time period,
frequency, frequency squared or the value of the measured parameter directly in proper
engineering units.
The dIGIview readout can store calibration coefficients of up to 7,999 vibrating wire transducers
so that the value of the measured parameter from these transducers can be shown directly in
proper engineering units. The user does not have to refer to look up tables or manually
calculate the parameter values.
For transducers with a built in interchangeable thermistor, it can also display the temperature of
the transducer directly in degree Centigrade.
The readout can store more than 1,00,000 readings in the micro-SD card inserted in the unit.
Each reading consists of measured sensor value, temperature in degrees centigrade and the
time and date the measurement is stored.
The stored readings can be retrieved by connecting the unit to PC through USB cable. The
dIGIview device is identified as mass storage device for the PC. Each store event is stored in
separate lines and saved as Microsoft excel document and can be opened with Microsoft Excel
software or any other word processing software capable of opening excel document.
Setting up the dIGIview readout is easy as all the prompts and error messages are in plain
simple English language.
An internal 3.7V, 3400mAH Li-Ion battery is used to power the indicator. A fully charged new
battery provides nearly 30 hours of operation on a single charge. A separate battery charger is
provided with the dIGIview readout to charge the internal battery from 110V/220 V AC mains.
Alternately, the battery can be charged using PC through USB cable.
The dIGIview readout is housed in a splash proof plastic moulded enclosure with weather-proof
connectors for making connections to the vibrating wire transducer and the battery
charger.dIGIview .
